Are there ways to prevent getting sick? I travel a lot and am frequently on airplanes when invariably someone begins coughing, sneezing or is sniffling. We’ve all been there, right? What can we do to boost our immune system when we’re around sick people? We cannot always prevent breathing the air that the person around us exhaled. We can’t always prevent or take precautions in advance or while traveling. However, we can start taking extra supplements when we are in unhealthy environments or when it’s cold and flu season.

5 Ways to Prevent Getting Sick

The first line of defense I use is garlic. Can you imagine garlic? Garlic is one of the most healing herbs on the planet. It is good for everything including purifying the blood, colds, infections.  It has anti-bacterial and antifungal properties plus drawing out splinters.  Simply cut a small sliver of garlic and place it over the splinter then cover with a bandage.  Remove the bandage the next day and say goodbye to the splinter. Garlic is rich in manganese, Vitamin B6, and C plus selenium. Garlic helps to prevent and reduce the severity of illnesses such a common cold and the flu.

We all know about Vitamin C right? Vitamin C also known as ascorbic acid is second on my list.  You can take Vitamin C daily or take it during the cold and flu season.  I tend to take Vitamin C on an as needed basis.  I take up to 12000mg of vitamin C throughout the winter time during the course of a day or when I’ve been around people who are sick.  Vitamin C has been shown to boost immune function and may lessen the duration and symptoms of a common cold.

Next is chlorella.  I take chlorella pills daily basis and extra during winter or cold seasons.  Chlorella can potentially prevent cancer, increase white blood cell count, treat skin rash, treat constipation and detox the body, according to WebMD.

What else do I travel with? I also take with me activated charcoal. This is amazing if you get a stomach bug. Charcoal is made to pull poisonous toxins out of your body, which excellent is you experience food poisoning.

Since I have no idea what I am going to run into while traveling, I always have what I call the “Big Silver Kahuna” on hand. Sovereign Silver or Colloidal Silver has been part of my wellness kit for many years.  It can be used topically or orally.  Topical colloidal silver is excellent for protecting wounds from infection and killing bacteria. When taken orally, it works from the inside out. Wounds, food poisoning, eye infections, colds, and flu are just a few of the things colloidal silver is excellent for.

I know there is a lot of controversy surrounding colloidal silver. While I don’t take it daily, I’ve found that it’s wonderful during cold and flu season to get your body an extra boost. It also goes with me everywhere I travel for those “just in case” situations.

That’s my basic ways to prevent getting sick and to ward off infections or illness. For the past 20 years, I’ve really been in tune with my body. I’m very in tune with my body and know when something is off. I encourage you to tune into your body as well to help reduce the chances of getting sick at home or while traveling.
